| INSTALL | V1 AIR INTAKE w/ DROP-IN FILTER UPGRADE: VOLVO SPA T5/T6 ENGINES

The following is an installation guide for the V1 Air Intake and Sprint Drop-In Filter Upgrade for all Volvo SPA T5/T6 engines.

INCLUDED IN YOUR KIT:

• V1 AIR INTAKE SILICONE PIECE
• (2) Clamps
• SPRINT DROP IN FILTER UPGRADE

No other items are needed for this installation.

This installation is simple and easy, but take your time and ensure all of the proper steps are followed. The most difficult part of this install is getting the intake piece connected to the airbox outlet and intake inlet for the supercharger/turbocharger, as it is a tight space. 

STEP 1:

Begin by removing the stock intake tubing. There are two clamps (one on each side of the tubing) that need to be loosened, and then you should be able to disconnect and remove the intake piece.

STEP 2:

Disconnect the MAF sensor connector and lay aside, located on the housing inlet to the airbox. After this is disconnected, do not turn on the ignition for any reason. It will throw a check engine light if you do.

STEP 3:

The MAF connector harness is attached to the back of the airbox. To remove this, wiggle the tab from side to side and slowly slide off by pulling upwards. You can also use a flat head to assist in prying this off, but be careful that you do not damage the plastic tab.

STEP 4:

Remove the airbox lid to access the panel filter. Use a torx socket attachment and loosen the screws circled below around the perimeter of the airbox lid. These do not need to be removed, just loosened enough to pull the lid up and off.

STEP 5:

With the panel filter now accessible, remove the stock filter and replace with the Sprint High Flow Filter.

Once you have replaced the filter, re-install the airbox lid and tighten down the torx screws.

STEP 6:

Take your V1 Intake tubing, and prepare the piece for installation by putting your clamps on each end prior to installing. Also, use a solution of soapy water and spray on the inside of the inlet and outlet of the intake piece to assist with mounting.

STEP 7:

Install the V1 intake piece onto the airbox and intake inlet. The intake should be oriented with the Vaitrix logo facing upwards and towards you if you're standing in front of the car. 

To help with the tight fit, install the end of the intake onto the airbox first, and then adjust the piece to secure the bottom lip of the intake onto the supercharger/turbocharger inlet piece first. This will make getting the upper lip into place easier if you tackle this portion last.

STEP 8:

Once the silicone piece is in place and secure, tighten both clamps.

STEP 9:

Reconnect your MAF sensor harness and harness tab (on the back of the airbox).
